For State Senate District 14

An Independent Voice for Texas

This is a unique and challenging time in our state's history.  The COVID-19 viral pandemic has taken the lives of many of our citizens, decimated our economy,  and created an environment of fear.  Our leaders at the local and state level are unequipped to deal with many of the issues that face us today.

As a physician in Austin for 14 years, I have worked alongside the doctors nurses, and front line personnel who are now risking their health and working to try and keep our community safe.  We are lucky enough to have some of the best doctors in the world here in Austin.  Many of them are my friends.  Now more than ever we need to make sure that they have the tools and equipment they need to not only protect themselves but to take care of their patients.

A Way Forward

Right now people across our city are concerned about not only their physical safety and health, but their economic futures.  Through tremendous sacrifice, we have managed to keep our health care system from being overwhelmed.  However, every week we stay closed means fewer businesses will reopen, and more and more Texans will be out of work.

We need to find a way to open up our economy while maintaining the health of our most vulnerable citizens.  We need to find a way to make sure our children can go to school in a safe and healthy environment.  In addition we need to start preparations for the future, so that we are better prepared for future health care emergencies.

A Special Election

Right now we don't need typical party politics.  We don't need cookie cutter Austin politicians.  We need leaders who understand medicine.

On July 14th, the citizens of central Texas will have a chance to choose which leaders will help guide us through this turbulent time.  I hope we can count on your support.
